How to Fix IPTV EPG Not Working
The Electronic Program Guide (EPG) is essential for knowing what’s on and when. When your IPTV EPG stops working, you are left scrolling blindly. Here’s how to fix every common EPG error.
Common EPG Problems
EPG not loading, showing No Information, displaying wrong programs, incorrect times, or missing channels entirely are the most frequent issues.
Step-by-Step Fixes
1. Update Your EPG Source URL
EPG data comes from XMLTV URLs. If the URL is outdated or incorrect, the guide won’t load. Check with your provider for the correct EPG URL and update it in your player settings.
2. Force EPG Refresh
Most players cache EPG data. In TiviMate, go to Settings > EPG > Update EPG to force a fresh download. In IPTV Smarters, clear the EPG cache from settings.
3. Check Time Zone Settings
Wrong time zone causes EPG times to be offset. Ensure your device time zone matches your location and the EPG source time zone. Set your device to automatic time zone if available.
4. Use a Secondary EPG Source
Some providers have unreliable EPG. Use a free EPG source like EPG BOSS or XMLTV Selections as a backup to fill in missing data.
5. Reboot Your Device
Simple but effective. A full restart of your streaming device, router, and modem can resolve EPG communication issues.
